PEUGEOT'S NEW VISUAL IDENTITY TAKES
SHAPE IN FRANCHE-COMTE WITHIN THE MAILLARD INDUSTRIE GROUP
AUTECHAUX / BAUME-LES-DAMES, 13 september 2002 - The company known for its Lion trademark has been coordinating a vast
revision programme for its corporate logo since 1998, which is entering into
its final stages with the manufacturing of the signs. The Brand Identity
Merchandising department of the manufacturer PSA (Peugeot Citroën) entrusted
GMI (Groupe Maillard Industrie) with the manufacture of the Lion logos, which
will take pride of place on the front of all Peugeot dealerships around the
world.
The new range of thermoformed Peugeot signs comes in six different sizes,
with 1 800 mm being the largest. After the final checks and finishing stages,
the Lions are delivered to a sign maker, so that the various media can be
assembled, the lighting system installed and the sign fitted.
The car manufacturer will take advantage of its participation at the Paris
Car Show to unveil a preview of its new sign and continue to deploy its new
identity in the international network.
The Peugeot brand was last repositioned back in 1980.
Talks first began with the managers of the Peugeot Brand Strategy department
in 2000. The GMI group was chosen for its expertise in thermoforming thick,
large format ABS sheets, an industrial speciality in which few French companies
are involved.
The GMI group has been an expert at industrial thermoforming since its creation
in 1982. To meet the growing expectations in terms of complex parts, precision,
appearance, quality and productivity, the group designs and manufactures
its own production lines. The organisation and equipment in the production
workshops offer strong volume and development potential.
