A 26,000-litre tank, a 5-metre chassis, a 4-metre-high pumping station… Large components place specific demands on design, manufacturing and integration. To meet these challenges, GROUPE MAILLARD INDUSTRIE combines three complementary areas of expertise: rotational moulding, thermoforming and welded metal fabrication.
From marine applications to automotive manufacturing, and from logistics to wastewater management, large components and assemblies come in many different forms. GMI’s projects reflect this diversity:
Our teams also manufacture products with distinctive shapes and uses: a six-person spa, a 2.5-metre float and canopies spanning more than 4 metres for fast-food ordering kiosks, as well as the Michelin Man and a giant squirrel.
Every project shares the same priority: adapting the design and manufacturing process to the requirements of the application.
Our carousel rotational moulding machine can manufacture plastic components up to 6 metres in diameter. This capacity opens up a wide range of possibilities for tanks, floats, spas and canopies.
The choice of rotational moulding takes into account the component’s geometry, intended use and integration into the final equipment.
Our XXL thermoforming machine can produce components measuring up to 3.50 × 2.50 × 1 metre.
It is particularly suited to large covers and vehicle body panels, where shape, overall dimensions and mounting interfaces must be considered from the design stage.
Our teams design and manufacture large chassis, frames, barriers and other metal structures, tailored to the requirements of each application.
Dimensions, loads, mounting points and assembly with other components guide the development of structures for special-purpose vehicles, industrial equipment and logistics applications.
To support the most demanding industrial projects, GMI regularly invests in state-of-the-art machinery for both plastics processing and metal fabrication. These machines complement our expertise, enabling us to manufacture large components and meet complex technical specifications.
Our latest investments include:
For our customers, these investments expand design possibilities and strengthen control over manufacturing, from material selection to component production.
An XXL project requires the component, its manufacturing process and its intended use to be considered together. With its own in-house engineering department and expertise in complementary technologies, including rotational moulding, thermoforming and welded metal fabrication, GMI supports customers at every stage of their projects.
Eco-design is also part of this approach. From the initial engineering stage, we consider material selection, optimisation of material use and component recyclability, while taking into account the technical requirements of each application.
Our objective: to design the right solution and manufacture it precisely, whatever the scale of the project.
Whether you need a tank, cover, chassis or an assembly combining plastic and metal, let’s discuss your requirements and technical feasibility.
